Trump posted the truth just a bit ago

See this for the mp4: https://files.catbox.moe/yjnnnf.mp4

Glitch happens at 19s in. His entire pinky and knuckle disappear and then reappear.

Oh that is super weird. I’m guessing the video is real but they stitched together multiple takes and blended the cut with AI or something. The whole thing does look weird, though

turdbrain should have to give back the $16 million he extorted out of cbs for the harris interview.

Its just reflecting the people operating the camera imo. They’re moving around a lot back there.

This is another problem with the “AI” grift. Since there’s no such thing as “AI”, the term is constantly misused to the point of meaninglessness. Anything could be “AI”.

Is this video just edited? Or is it edited with “AI”?!?!?! There’s no fucking difference. It’s all just computers doing shit with absolutely zero “intelligence”.

I see his hands move, but I don’t see a finger disappear. The foliage out the window also seems to glitch at that point though, and the hand movement is rapid and doesn’t match to anything he is saying. So it seems like a very unnatural movement. So I’m torn between deepfake, or poorly touched up with AI.

I love being in a reality where I can’t trust a video of the president published by the white house to be real.

You can tell it’s “ai” bc there’s no way he could string that many words together that coherently at this point xD Also it just looks super off, kinda sounds generated too but idk

I think they just used shitty AI tools to doctor and stitch together multiple takes. Not convinced it’s fully fabricated. Maybe they asked it to make him look less feeble.

It’s not deepfake. Another day, another overreaction and upvoting crapshoot in this community.

It’s just stitching multiple takes together or cutting misspeaks.

      Explain here. https://lemmy.world/comment/19325281

Still going to get upvoted to oblivion. I wish this community would fck off to reddit now. It will start damaging Lemmy with these kind of bad takes.

I agree, this doesn’t look like a deepfake. There does appear to be a quick crossfade that also explains the shifting leaves outside the window, there’s some motion blur around the time of the edit that contributes to the confusion. Admittedly, I haven’t had the time to give it a full analysis, but the rest of the video looks fine to my eyes as a film school dropout. I’m only a very part-time mod of this community so I hesitate to take down the post on my own. But if another mod wants to, I’d agree this isn’t clearly a deepfake, and probably doesn’t belong.

It’s not just the hands thing. The way his head kind of wanders and twitches around the frame at the speaks, and the way his torso kind of stretches subtly to match those movements just feels quite odd and uncanny. Like the framerate is weird too we’re getting a bit of that soap opera effect on shitty TVs.

I can’t see timestamps but it looks like it just cut. It doesn’t disappear, it just moves. If it’s really a deepfake, it’s a damn good one.

Yes, once again take everything on this community with a grain of salt. I’ve watched 0:19 about a dozen times now. Can’t see it. Either provide the stills or remove the post.

It’s more like he’s really trying to keep the bruising on his bad hand hidden from the camera to me.

Its one hundred percent a deepfake:

          https://lemmy.world/post/35748353/19324281

I slowed it down and zoomed in. It might take a couple watches and you’ll prob still need to be on desk top.

The pinky finger straight up disapears into his hand, and a new finger appears at the top of the hand. Visually follow the ring finger on his left hand; it “becomes” the new pinky. Visually follow his index finger. It “becomes” the middle finger.

Nope. There is no finger disappearing. Well, yes his left pointing finger disappears behind his right middle finger. That’s not AI, just a 30fps video.

Ok, I see what you mean.

I’m afraid it’s still not deepfake. It’s a fast cross dissolve cut. “Charlie was a [|] patriot”. It matches his dialogue. You can see above his head in the window that the green blur in the trees changes at the same time.

Don’t worry. On this community, nobody will see my comment and you’ll get to keep spreading your misinformation.

It’s a slice. He just moved his hand between takes. You can still see and count all his fingers, even if some are partially obscured. I don’t doubt this was run through some kind of AI enhancement filter. Some of the movements seem wrong, like the automatic AI “enhancement” of recent YouTube videos.

To me it looks very strongly like what they used is one of the models that is specifically for iterpolating frames to splice takes together, and (maybe) the one of the ones that “cleans up” speech.

What this reminds me of though is when kamala did an interview with 60 minutes, and for whatever reason a ton of conservatives kept shitting on them for not releasing an unedited version… as if she said something scandalous or extremist in the cut out portions. This strikes me the same way because if you actually consider what you’d do with full proof this was mostly or fully AI generated, there’s not much?

    • it would reveal he’s too sick to be in office
      • I don’t think this would be the tipping point for anybody. You’re either already aware / care or in denial / don’t care
    • it shows trump doesn’t actually care
      • I don’t think he ever really did with any of the previous times. the trump statement with or without AI would look exactly the same in this regard
    • it shows they’re willing to sacrifice [issue with AI] just for a press statement
      • they’ll say this themselves happily

The biggest concern I have is that the words of this particular guy, they have incredible bearing on the weight of the world.

If they are willing to use an AI to touch him up and make him seem more “together”, are they willing to generate an video from a still frame and a transcript? If they’re willing to do that when does fully generating the president become acceptable.

It’s a slippery slope where not one step is acceptable. The implications are too much. These people have access to the best of the best of the best models and companies that owns them. They can afford to spend millions fine tuning a model to produce videos of just one guy.

Consider the counter position: What does it mean if Trump didn’t say these words?
