  • Before full touch screens came out I bought a small windows CE full screen device and put a few videos on it on a card (can’t recall if it was sd or something more primitive) and watched anime in between calls at work.

I always wanted this, and phones getting better at it just meant less devices. I am partial to phablets and fold phones because I like to read books, light novels, and manga on a bigger screen while being portable. I have in the past used both a tablet and phone before I got my fold, and when the inside screen of my fold failed after a couple years I am now back at both until I can afford a replacement.

I know not everyone wants this, but that’s why we have options, and dumb/feature phones can still be purchased, even from large carriers (though price of plan may be wasted on those). These memes act like there are only smartphones now, but dumbphones were always an option.

  • I think there might be some anthropomorphism affecting the opinion, and I know a lot of people dislike "raising someone else’s children ", especially unknowingly.

In humans, this mostly happens to men just due to biology, but I’m sure some women have experienced swapped kids.

It’s not like those animals are betraying defined social constructs while knowing better, so i agree with you more on this, but that would be my best guess for someone reacting so emotionally to it.

(Also there’s far worse things to use for the “no god” argument, like cancer and numerous other vicious diseases or syndromes)

  • Lots of people suffer far more discrimination for having non standard names. There have been studies showing a name can lose you a job opportunity, and I’ve been discriminated for my name since middle school. My name is Chatoyer, a French name pronounced with a sh sound.

So I’ve heard shit used instead, I’ve heard people confused by the shorted version sounding like shat, and at one job where they tried to send me to a customer onsite, when he heard my name he yelled "The hell kinda name is that?!"and hung up, losing the company business (good riddance though).

Get over it. Karen’s have it easy.

  • As others mentioned, “gang violence” is generally a euphemism for non white, especially poor, people. I used to listen to Knowledge Fight(stopped after election not because of the boys, but didn’t want to hear Jones gloat) and during several shootings that involved black victims Jones dismissed it as gang violence.

One case I recall was a shooting in a school in GA that he was spinning some other way, until he found out the school was primarily black and the victim (who survived iirc) was black. He then just stated the kid was in a gang with no proof and dismissed the story.

  • Yeah, as I was writing it I thought the same thing. If not density though, then what do you measure as the… object itself? Since the prevailing theories are that black holes are either infinitely dense in a singularity, or that some are gravistars, we’d either turn an infinitely small dot into poop, or we’d turn something large enough for the poop to be dense enough anyway, so it may just shrink the blackhole.

Second point also works if using Schwarzschild radius or Kerr metric instead of a gravistar.

  • It’s more than mild, but Dolphins aren’t as effected, iirc. It’s pufferfish which has a toxin that can kill humans. While it’s possible to touch and be safe because our skin will block it, small scrapes or accidentally getting it in our mouth or eyes etc could be incredibly dangerous, where as dolphins use their snouts and mouths and seem to get just a bit high.

Edit: also it’s in some dispute whether it was intentionally getting high or just accidental poisoning.
