Eq0@literature.cafeto Fuck AI@lemmy.world•Want to make your photos soulless? Google Images has you covered!0·8 days agoSomewhat. I am not familiar with this exact type of algorithm, but the global name is “Encoder-Decoder” algorithm. Broadly speaking you have an input (the original image) and you want to create an output (obviously). You want the input and the output to be “very similar” according to some definition, but you imagine that the AI algorithm has two parts, the encoder part that extracts as much meaningful information as possible from the input and a decoder, that takes that information and generates something new out if it. This information is practically stored as a list of numbers, and we do not impose any prior meaning to them (we do not say that the first number for example is the number of people in the image) but the algorithm learns to make the best out of the encoding.
Two different machines that run the same algorithm trained independently might have completely different middle information. The only thing that matters is that the “encoder” and the “decoder” parts both know what’s going on. (Basically, yes, it’s random but the computer knows how to interpret it - where “know” is used very loosely here)
Sorry for the rant! I hope you found it interesting
What I read is “US is big enough that if you search long enough you find good food”. Overall, a random US restaurant will be a fairly forgettable experience
I hate separate WC, but i must admit of its practical solution to the poop spray problem
People don’t notice them? I usually don’t see them and my brain immediately starts telling me ~something is weird~ on my arms.
Always takes me way too long to figure it out because the first thoughts are always incredibly rational “what if i got bitten by a giant snake i didn’t notice?” And “where is the crawling bug?” Only then “oh, yeah, the thin spider web…”
So so so many ways in which you can make statistics for a slow and painful death
Broken society, messed up environment, absurdly low quality food sources, pollution at every step… (damn, that’s depressive)
The snipers will get you! (Honestly, my stance was general, not only about spaghetti, you are heating up the kitchen instead of your pot)
Heat diffusers for gas stoves could help and are much cheaper than a pan
Depends on where you are. Sure, in Italy Barilla is mid- to low-range (citation needed), but outside of Italy that could be the best you can get your hands on. And it’s solid, constant quality
If a gas burner is heating around the pot, you are using the wrong sized burner: it means the heat is not going into the pot, but in the air around it. Either move the pot to a smaller burner, select a lower heat setting or get a heat distributor (no idea what you really call it, it a metal plate larger than your pot that distribute the flame heat all around)

Two sensation of torment seems too much commitment. I stopped after one volume of the manga… does it really get better? Or just more of the same “I am super smart and remember all of physics exactly perfectly as a high schooler”?
Eq0@literature.cafeto Fuck AI@lemmy.world•First AI Psychosis Case Ends in Murder-Suicide0·17 days agoThe chatbots are trained in the “yes and” model of conversation. They can’t (?) say “no, you are a lunatic and this is insane” or any other milder variations of it, they only say “yes, you are right”. This stokes one’s ego, but obviously creates problems

The main reason was social security - I could not live in a country that is not a society
Eq0@literature.cafeto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•And they even get a seizure when you take their ipads away1·19 days agoQuantity is an important factor. A half hour a day of brainrot isn’t a big problem, constant brainrot during all your free time is going to impact your concentration abilities, your mental image of the world, your ability to build meaningful logical connections and so many other mental development elements.
In a very nuanced approach, I state: “Airbnb is the cancer of tourism, an already problematic industry”
Once, I got a reviewer stating “in the code, I doubt line 43 was supposed to be submitted”
Line 43: FUUUCK, DOES NOT WORK
If we are talking about post-industrial revolution times, the air of cities was incredibly polluted, so getting out to the sea with its strong winds would definitely provide solace. I wouldn’t know about houses, hopefully someone can come to enlighten us
