    I think it’s interesting to see the news media go back to naming and focusing on shooters. When big school shootings began to happen they talked all about the shooters and what could have led them to do what they did. That was accidentally became a great incentive for copycats because many were outcasts wanting similar infamy and their stories to be told.

    Then over the years most news media tried to just focus on the victims and communities impacted. Shootings still happen, but how often do you hear the shooter named on the news? Even for major events like the trump assassination attempts they didn’t really focus a lot on who the shooters were.

    It seems that recent shooters are getting a lot more attention again, and all it takes is to assassinate someone and get away just long enough to force them to name your and show your face. This runs the risk of starting a whole new copycat trend
