I would scroll a bit after someone linked me a video. Content was fun, but after like 3 minutes, I could feel something wrong in my brain. Like just the nonstop influx of content with no breaks. You might think one video was faked, but you didn’t have enough time to contemplate it before another shows up in its place.
I have some friends who spend hours on it. I can’t imagine deciding to participate in that for so long.
At least once a week, I have a dream where some piece of technology that I use every day just won’t work properly. I was up frustrated.

Having nets will keep many people from even trying. Killing yourself is inherently irrational, folks contemplating doing it are rarely thinking pragmatically.

Back in high school, my buddy used to VNC into his Athlon 3200+ WinXP machine from school and start SuperPi calculating a million digits. Took 40minutes and got his room proper toasty by time he got home.
I just mean that I don’t remember if climate change was specifically called out. I don’t think it was. Not that another ecological disaster wasn’t a major plot point.
I think what was proven wrong was the significance of the color of light. The original study had people using iPads at like maximum brightness.

That’s not it actually. Current theory is it has something to do with the overall decreased sensation of sunlight indicating it’s mating season or something. They won’t develop mature ovaries with both eyes.
According to where I learned it, in high enough densities in concrete tanks, some shrimp would grind their own eyestalks off on the side of the tank. Some farmer put two and two together.

Fun fact I like to share with everyone who enjoys shrimp. Up until the 90s 80s they were very difficult to breed in captivity. They just wouldn’t reproduce.
Until someone figured out that it you cut out one of their eyes, they will readily breed. Nobody really knows why, but they snip off one of the eye stalks on the females to get them to breed.
That’s why my coffee shop hands out Gabriel’s Horn shaped cups. Bottomless, but finite volume. What a scam.
