It’s not exactly predicting player input, the idea is to correct input lag (say, because the processor is under heavy load) by making microadjustments in the timing so that an action happens when the player intended it to happen, instead of missing (ex:) a jump to another platform because you had been correcting for lag and, when the lag stopped, you speculatively had hit the button few frames early. This system would theoretically correct for that discrepancy, so the user input would happen when the user intended for it to happen.

It’s… not the worst application for AI I’ve ever seen, but that’s really not saying much. It seems like you could implement this with ~150 lines of assembly instead of a full ML model, but what do I know…

The modern internet. Millions of hits is very normal - one of my domains is just 30 year old ASCII art of a penguin, and it gets 2-3 million a month from bots/crawlers (nearly all of them trying common exploits). The idea that the google spider would be notably negatively impacted by this is kinda naive. It could fall fully into the tarpit and it probably wouldn’t even get flagged as an abnormal resource allocation. The difference in power between desktop and enterprise equipment is at this point almost inexpressible.

There’s material being given to Ukraine, and intelligence, and all kinds of backroom advice, and how much of it will stop once Trump takes us out of NATO? Can europe pick up the slack? Are you going to rally together and strike Russia to stop them building up, or will the russian backed neofascist parties that are on the rise in every country seize power before you have the chance?

In an effort to combat this, would it be fair to say your position is that while TikTok is bad, it’s okay to still use it because it’s extremely popular, and thus the ability to do things like engage or organize with other people in your subcultures is consequently quite high? “The good outweighs the ill” as it were? It does sound like there’s some contention about that, and although the national security bit is as cringingly craven as usual, the applicability of the restriction to corporate entities is going to be an interesting decision to see ruled on.
