Congratulations on barely functioning as an adult, I guess.

It’s not that fussy, you just need the freezer space and a plan. Slightly softened ice cream is easy to layer on and picking the right frosting keeps it from cracking. (I used a sweet marscapone) Totally worth it, btw.
Yeah but the traditional flavors are rose, mastic, and citrus fruit like lemon or bergamot.
Some people just don’t like floral flavors. If your only experience with flowers is soap and perfume then of course that’s the association you’ll have. Me, I love em. Rose, violet, nasturtium, hibiscus, elderflower, orange blossom, lavender, I even eat dandelion heads from the yard.
Are you a young child living in besieged England with war-time sugar rationing? Are you a traumatized youth coping with an entirely new scenario with no safety net, with a powerful adult promising your safety? (Also, floral flavors would have been more familiar to an English kid than an American one. Familiarity is a big factor there.)
Don’t pretend we’re free to post literally anythere here, either. There’s rules.
If you carefully cultivate your subscriptions and watching habits it’s not bad. I get mostly stuff I’m subscribed to, a movie cut into thirty second chunks (right now it’s Braveheart), tv clips with one of three pieces of music overlaid, a mix of benign recommendations that are mostly meh but sometimes funny, and thirst traps. So… it’s not good but I do sometimea see something worth following.
It used to be worse, I think abandoning guntubers was the right call. I used to have Andrew Tate and Jordan Peterson pushed at me.
No mental gymnastics because I don’t have orthorexia nervosa. There’s no guilt or shame. (None that aren’t universal to all consumption under capitalism, anyway)
I also eat cake, red meat, smoked meat, vegetables high in oxalates, various fried foods, and occasionally drink alcohol. Life should not be about eliminating every risky behavior, it should be about fulfillment and weighing risk against probability and payoff. We all die eventually and I want to eat tasty food before I get there.
Tons of people happily eat insects too. Chapulines are pretty good, escamoles are popular, silk worm is eaten in Korea and Thailand, there’s Witchetty grubs and honeypot ants…
It’s truly the most reddit of instances. And yet, here I am.
I mean, yeah. But there’s so many clones and time travelers and Multiple Man copies running around already that I don’t think TOAA or whoever is keeping track.
That doesn’t scale to larger games. Rust, for instance, has servers with many hundreds of players (and a huge cheating problem). MMOs will have thousands (and constantly fight bots). The nature of massive, real-time games makes self-policing solutions like votekick or manual whitelists infeasible. Manually investigating user reports is slow. And you pointed out the problems with different kinds of anticheat.
It’s easy to see the allure of root-level monitoring, with all that in mind. Both for developers and players oblivious to or willing to accept the risk. Of course, it also isn’t a silver bullet…
