When our company got it’s own AI instance there was a big announcement, then a couple of months later I (just a supervisor) was asked to evaluate it, and there’s been no word of it since.

Hum, yeah good points … it feels like lots of management types are glomping onto this at a rate far above what I would have expected for something with so few statistics / proofs of concept.

In other news, on a smaller scale I was given a similar task, but I just fiddled with a single AI instance for an afternoon. I said it was shit, and my boss took me at my word. Job done.

Yuuup. Woman in engineering here. I once had a supervisor whose behaviour I thought of as normal, but two guys I worked with separately reported him to HR for bullying after seeing how he treated me.
It’s funny, I had many years with almost no career progression, now my boss is a woman and I’m having to get used to the idea that bonuses and promotions are things that actually happen when I work hard.
My wife openly says she left Hungary because of the dictatorship, nobody has ever reacted to her negatively for it.
The impression I get from most Hungarians I’ve met is that if you can speak another language then getting out is the smart move.
