Because our society is moving more towards a post-truth reality. Ffs, the then vice president candidate stood in front of a grocery shelf to talk about how egg prices were $4, when the label behind him clearly says “$2.99”
Companies aren’t here to make life better. They are here to make money.
Every few months they would say, “Ugh the global supply chain is tightening” to prepare to raise prices.
All the while on their earnings calls they talk about how much profit they made in the last quarter.
I use NewRelic myself. They are software agnostic and only connect to your URL to get the expiration date.
If you set up LE correctly, it should never get an alert. I haven’t been alerted since I set it up, to the point that I wonder if I set up the monitor correctly.
The only thing I wish it could do is use custom ports. I have some services running on non standard ports.
My pixel has what’s called a “private” profile. It allows you to tie a different Google account to the apps downloaded to that profile.
So I would install the CVS app on that profile, find public credentials for the app (or create one with and then publish them). Use the app to unlock the shelf. Leave it open or unshelf everything.
Or just don’t shop there.
It’s too early in the morning for me to look this up but I bet his worth is more than most of the EU member’s GDP.
Sanctions on him individually as well as anything he owns. Bar him from entry, tax the living shit out of any of his properties including any assets he has in the EU.
The level of effort to move to mastodon is not that much more than moving the bluesky. I agree not letting perfect be the enemy of good but this is a situation where they could have done something substantially better with only slightly more effort.
Am I glad they left Twitter? Sure.
Is there anything wrong with bluesky? Not right now.
Even if they moved to a managed mastodon instance, it would have been better.
the House of Representatives calls on the Department of Justice— (A) to prosecute these crimes of domestic terrorism (as such term is defined in section 2331 of title 18, United States Code) by Antifa; and (B) to use all available tools and resources to combat the spread of domestic terrorism (as such term is defined in section 2331 of title 18, United States Code) committed by Antifa.
Yes, start here:
According to new lending startups, your social media activity and how low you let your phone battery get can be read as signs of creditworthiness, making loans available to those who may not have qualified otherwise
Yet the article discusses none of this. Just vague “data points”.
This sounds like discrimination based on “algorithms” but one that is legal.
They use airport codes for their data center identifiers.
It’s not a glitched friend request notification.
It’s a native friend request that you make through discord. The vulnerability lies in the attacker making a unique pfp for each request, forcing the CDN to cache the pfp at the closest data center to the user.
I would agree that it’s not fully deanonymizing but it could resurrect tracking Elon and other billionaires.
You’d think this doesn’t work but it does
Netflix has done the math. They know they will make up the difference.

If we’re lucky. And even if we have another president and that president is a Democrat and even if that president has a Democrat super majority in the House and Senate, I am not convinced that they will prioritize breaking up monopolies.
It shows you the power of branding. I remember that there was a study where kids were given a regular hamburger in a McDonald’s wrapper and the same hamburger by itself and kids overwhelming said McDonald’s tasted better.
I think they even replicated the experiment where the McDonald’s hamburger was unwrapped and kids still preferred the McDonald’s wrapped burger.
I thought Tomorrowland was good. Not great. But good enough.
When they can, they do. But it’s not always possible.
For most shots, multiple shots can’t be avoided.
You have to get coverage of the principal actors and unless they are all facing the same way, you always have to get shots in one direction and one shot the other direction.
We need more credible fake news.
“On a call with investors, Zuckerberg admits that their inroads into China are falling short of expectations and is considering exiting the market.”
Hit him in the wallet, not the scrotum.
I’ve been listening to a lot of TV and movie podcasts. Fake food is often more expensive than real food. Unless there is a good reason, food is more often than not real.
But it’s rarely eaten.
Actors have to do several takes and if they eat in the shot, they have to eat in every shot. A lot of young actors who don’t know often learn this very early in their career to never eat the food because they will forever be sick of it.
Why keep it a secret? Most conservatives are proud to be fucking sheep of Fox.
Which corporations will use as covert to jack up all their prices and not lower them when fuel prices go back down.
