I’m pointing out how it isn’t a great solution to the problem that was presented; you can safely access it remotely with a VPN, but then that isn’t very useful for sharing with others, and you can expose the service to the internet at large, but then you’re opening yourself to risk.
Yes that’s why I suggested a alternative. Although wireguard is simpler to setup initially. Using proxy’s and exposing your service directly is simpler for the end user. Both are not difficult to do.
